Is responsible for the

engineers. Will be consulted
during the development stage
to ensure that products can be
manufactured and assembled
easily. Responsible for sourcing
and buying materials needed
for manufacture of products.
Market
Researcher**
Responsible for researching and
communicating information
about the market and the user
with the designer. Responsible for
advertising and selling products
prior to and after launch.
Accountant**
Will run feasibility studies to
check that a company will make
money rather than lose it. Keeps
track of debts and capital outlay
of the company.
Marketing
team**
Promote the product in the
market - posters, promotions,
adverts, They deal with TV,
radio, & magazine
advertising, get celebrities to
endorse a product, etc
Ergonomists
Looks at the
ergonomics of the
product and figure
out how it can be
easier to use/more
comfortable . Will give
suggestions to the
designer as well as
facts relating to the
human body and
human behaviour
Retailers
The people who sell the product
Can aid the designer by telling
him/her what the public want
and when they want it. Retailers
can identify trends in sales and
target markets, i.e. who is
buying what and when. Retailers
are the first people to know
what is selling well and what is
not.
Consumers
The people who buy and use
the product . Can aid the
designer by offering opinions
and feedback on the product
at various stages of the design
process. Consumer demand:
the consumers have either a
need or a want to which the
designer will try to respond.
