1. Data Capture Forms

   • These are commonly used to capture data.
   • They are simple and easy to use
   • has a minimum of printed text or instuctions
   • Not too long
   • Not boring to read
   • Provides clear instructions
   • has spaces to be filled
   • Is logically laid out
   • Any form should appear:
     • Laid out logically
     • Suitable for use
     • not to be cluttered
     • only have relevant items
     • have suitable typeface and font size
     • have text and images
     • have clear instructions

2. Database key terms

   • a row is a record
   • records contain fields
   • the top records are called field names
   • primary key
   • Foreign key
   • Primary key - data to uniquely identify each record

3. Data Types

   • Text/alphanumeric - allows numbers and letters
   • numerical - only numbers
   • Boolean - allows one of two options
   • date/time - date or/and time
   • auto number - computer generates a unique number for each record in the table
   • integer - whole number
   • real number - any number including decimals
   • Currency - money
