Temptation
Jesus was tempted (challenged) by devil (satan) after his body weakened due to 40 days of fasting
This show that he only could only accomplish (complete) God's purpose through rejection, suffering, death and resurrection
3 challenges took place :
- 1. Satan persuaded him to use his divine power to satisfy his physical hunger . But he said - only the word of god n scripture (Holy Book) can truly satisfy man
- 2. Satan tried to force him to commit suicide by throwing himself off from the top of the temple but he refused .
- 3. Satan offered him all the kingdoms of the world but he rejected as he refused his power for self-preservation or world domination
