Class Data and Methods
Static member of a class do not belong to any instances of the class
- There will only ever be one of the static members no matter how many instances of the class are made
You define the static variable OUTSIDE the classes declaration
- Cannot access any non static members in the class
Why are static members useful?
- Lifetime is the same as the lifetime of the program
- You can access the members before any initialisations have been made
