Atomic Structure and the Periodic Table

1. Atoms

   • Nucleus
     • Its in the middle of the Atom, it contains protons and neutrons.
     • It has a positive charge, because of the protons it contains.
       • Nearly the whole mass of the Atom is in the nucleus.

2. The electrons

   • They move around the nucleus in electron shells.
   • They are negatively charged and tiny, but they cover alot of space
   • they have virtually no mass.

3. Elements

   • Elements consist of Atoms.
