Irony of Titanic Sinking when Mr B says its unsinkable = Mr B's sinking political ideology
Priestley loves Dramatic Irony - Titanic, War, "nice well behaved family" + "well I have certainly learnt a lot tonight"
Gerald & Birling = stronger bond after inspector goes
Birling = an individualist & capitalist beyond personal responsibility
Chain of events = outline of moral crimes Birling's and Gerald have committed
Each partly responsible - together = totally responsible (links back to one body metaphor)
Sheila = first to realise Inspector's power & character progression is punctuated at end with her different view to her relationship with Gerald - more realistic & cynical way.
Corruption of the Upper Class-dealings with prostitutes.
Connection with Inspector to Eva: he knew her diary + "just to make it last longer" he repeats (nostalgia/melancholy for her?) Maybe her ghost?
Birling fails to see his public position entails a duty of responsibility to the people
Inspector puts him down = microcosm for downfall of capitalists
Gerald always takes Birling's side over Sheila's = no true love in a capitalist environment compared to socialists = more love
Ironic again because Mrs Birling says Eva wasn't capable of having "such feelings" (love)
