The easel is often used in schools and Art Colleges.

The design should be made so that it does not compact much space in a classroom.

The easel should be user friendly and simple to fold and put away.

The height of the easel should be adjustable for the canvas.

It should be able to stand alone sturdily.

Aims : To make an easel suitable for use such as holding a canvas.

Objectives : Must be able to stand alone freely.

Should be able to hold a relatively large canvas.

The height for the canvas should be adjustable.

Investigation

1st Idea :

Cons -

Can't change height of painting.

Can take up a lot of room.

Pros -

Easy to use.

Long lasting.

Is simply fold-able and accessible.

Very stable and sturdy.

2nd Idea :

Cons -

Won't last very long in terms of durability.

Complex and slightly difficult to make.

Not big enough to hold an A2 Page.

Pros -

Rather small, so easy to store.

Can adjust height for painting/drawing.

Very easily fold-able.

3rd Idea :

Cons -

Doesn't hold paintings very well.

Depends on rope to balance.

Requires a hinge.

Pros -

Multiple heights to choose from.

Long lasting and durable.

Balanced well when standing alone.
