Scalar quantities are physical quantities that have magnitude only , e.g. mass and distance.
Vector quantities are physical quantities that possess both magnitude and direction, e.g. force and velocity.
Examples of scalar quantities: Distance Speed Energy Time Volume Density Power
Examples of vector quantities: Displacement Velocity Force Acceleration
Scalar quantity only has a magnitude. E.g. 2kg, it only has a magnitude and no direction.
Vector quantity consist of magnitude and direction. E.g. A car travels with a velocity of 20m/s in the east direction.
