AQA - GCSE COMBINED SCIENCE: TRILOGY (Higher Tier)
Topic: Chemistry 1 - Atomic Structure and the Periodic Table
ATOMS:
All substances are made up of atoms, they have a radius of around 0.1nm (nanometers).
The Nucleus is in the middle of the atom, it contains protons (protons have a relative mass of 1 and a charge of +1 - this means it has a positive charge) and neutrons (neutrons have a relative mass of 1 and a charge of 0, it's neutral, that's why it is called neutron).
The nucleus has a radius of around
