An automated system refers to a combination of software and hardware design programmed to work automatically without the need for any human intervention such a system makes use of:
1. Sensor
Sensors are input devices that detect and measure physical properties in the environment.
Examples of sensors include infrared sensors, temperature, movement, pressure sensors, moisture sensors, PH sensors, light sensors, and gas sensors.
Sensor acts as an input by providing real-time data about the surroundings in an automated system.
2. Microprocessors
A microprocessor is known as the brain of an automated system. It receives data from sensors, processes it, and makes decisions pre-defined algorithms.
The microprocessor acts as the control unit, determining the appropriate action to be taken based on the input received from sensors.
