Every measurement has two parts: Numerical Value and Unit.
We describe a quantity that has units of length as having the dimension of length [L]. SImilarly for time [T], mass [M] and four others.
In any expression, we demand Dimensional Consistency;
a + b = . . . dimensions of a and b must agree
a x b = c dimensions of c must be the dimensions of a x dimensions of b
sin(a) 'a' must be dimensionless.
We can compare the dimensions of equations to find an expression for a measurement.
