One child policy
The one child policy is a policy that was made by China to stop the population from growing larger. The policy was made in the late 1970s. The policy meant that chinese couples could only have one child. If chinese couples did follow the policy they got rewarded with free eduation and loads of other benifits. But if chinese couples who didn't follow the policy didn't recive any benifits and they were also fined for not following the policy. Now the older population is higher that the younger population because of the one child policy.
