1) graph of positions vs time (set of strobe photos indicating whether object is moving faster or slower)
2) graph of velocity versus time (vertical axis is horizontal component of the velocity) (horizontal axis indicates time)
a) width of graph, height of graph, slope of graph all mean something
rise - change in velocity (delta v)
rise over run - the object's acceleration
formula for area of a triangle - 1/2 base x height
if there's area below the time axis in the velocity graph, sketch up to the axis. This indicates a negative velocity
1) constant velocity: d=vt. Velocity graph is a horizontal line segment. Distance polygon is a rectangle
2) accelerating system: from rest v1 = 0. to a stop vf = 0. delta x = (1/2)at^2. velocity graph is a sloped line segment. Distance is a triangle.
3) what if velocity doesn't change uniformly?
