The Nile Theory was the first natural theory that came in Egyptian times. The theory was based on how the river Nile had many channels that can become blocked and if they do, then that part of the river would dry out. They suggested that the body worked in a similar way to the Nile. So that if the 'channels' in the body got blocked, then it would lead to a person becoming ill. They would try to unblock the channels through purging, bloodletting and vomiting.
