- 1Intrusion Detection System (IDS)Software that monitors network or system activities for unexpected or malicious activities.
- 2Intrusion Prevention System (IPS)Software that examines network traffic flows to detect and prevent vulnerability exploits.
- 3Vulnerability TestingLaunching an attack on a businesses network on purpose to test the security and find out what the vulnerabilities are.
- 4Signature-basedA digital signature is code that is attached to an electronically transmitted document to verify its contents and the sender’s identity.
- 5HoneypotsDecoy servers or computer systems that are set up to gather information on intruders or attackers of computer systems/networks.

- 11FuzzingA method that is used to test the security of software. It works through launching a a large amount of data and then noting down the vulnerabilities and what caused them to act weirdly or crash. Hackers can also use Fuzzing techniques to find out a networks vulnerabilities and then launch an attack which specifically targets them.
- 12SandboxingThis is a security method for separating running programs on a computer system/network. It is often used to run untested code, or untrusted programs from unknown sources such as suppliers, untrusted users and untrusted websites.
