Loud. Tubular. Inspiration is shorter With slight pause in between inspiration/exhalation. Abnormal sounds over distal airways. Tracheal/bronchial (normal breathing)
High pitch/breezy over distal airways. Inspiration is longer than expiration with no pause. Vesicular (normal breathing)
Continuous abnormal sounds during inspiration/expiration Adventitious (abnormal breathing)
High-pitched popping sound usually during inspiration Crackles (rales) (abnormal breathing) Common with obstructive/restrictive lung disease
Dry. Crackling during inspiration and expiration. Pleural friction rub (abnormal breathing)
Continuous low-pitch sound during inspiration and expiration. "snoring" "Gurgling" Rhonchi (abnormal breathing)
