- 1ProtagonistThe protagonist os the leading character or one of the major characters in a drama, movie, novel or fictional text.
They often play the role of the hero. - 2AntagonistThe antagonist opposes struggles or competes with the protagonist.
They often play the role of the story villain. - 3Static Flat CharacterA static or flat character is one who is not complex and only has one or two basic qualities.
A static character undergoes a little or no inner change and doesn't develop as the story progresses. - 4Dynamic (round)A dynamic character is one who is complex and is multidimensional.
A dynamic character undergoes an important inner change, usually in personality or attitude. - 5Stock CharacterA stock character is a stereotypical fictional character that the reader will recognize from frequent references in other work.
Stock character are always flat/static as they only possess one o two stereotypical traits - 6CharacterizationThe author reveals the personality of the character in a fictional story.
- 7Direct CharacterizationDirect characterization occurs when the writer directly tells the audience what the personality of the character is.
