Resumen del Recurso

Pregunta Respuesta
List the stages of mitosis in order. 0. (Interphase) 1. Prophase 2. Metaphase 3. Anaphase 4. Telophase
Describe Interphase. Stage 0 Cell is actively synthesising proteins. Chromosomes invisible. Prior to mitosis, DNA replicates.
Describe Prophase. Stage 1 Chromosomes become visible. Nuclear envelope disintegrates. Nucleolus disappears.
Describe Metaphase. Stage 2 Spindle forms. Chromosomes line up on the centre of the cell.
Describe Anaphase. Stage 3 Spindle fibres attached to chromatids contract. Chromatids are pulled towards poles.
Describe Telophase. Stage 4 Chromosomes reach poles and become indistinct. Nuclear envelope reforms. Nucleolus reforms. Spindle disintegrates.
Define Mitosis Mitosis produces two daughter cells that have the same number of chromosomes as the parent cell and each other.
