   • responds the commands of user
   • automates the computer routines
   • enable resources to make the best
   • controls the acesss of the computer resources

   • Firstly there was a person in charge of chaniging the connections.
     • Later there was a resident monitor
       • 1960 you could process a program while other was running (multiprogramming)
         • Personal computer PCoperating system in external disk
           • Graphical user interefirience

4. Comparing

   • Windows
     • -any program works -support is available -good functionality
     • -most attacked by virus -huge amount of resources -high lisence cost
   • Apple
     • -no virus -compatability with apple devices -balanced management -attention to design -graphics really good
     • - no compatability (no apple) -high lisence -tightly closed
   • Linux
     • -free installation -change oparating system -low virus -more support
     • -more complicated -incopatible funct.

   • Problems= obsolete data, infected by virus etc
   • Preventive methods
