Macbeth Act 3

1. Scene 1

   • Banquo feels Macbeth played foully as the witches said he would be king, Macbe this having a feast but plans to have Banquo and Fleance murdered on the way
     • "I fear thou play'dst most foully for't"
       • Feels Macbeth killed Duncan
       • "Goes Fleance with you?"
         • Wants to know if Fleance will be there when he gets Banquo murdered

2. Scene 2

   • Lady Macbeth starts to feel the guilt, Lady Macbeth isn't told about the plan to murder Banquo and once she is told wishes he doesn't do this as it is pointless
     • "Be innocent of the knowledge"
       • Excludes her from his plans
       • "You must leave this"
         • Doesn't want him to kill Banquo

3. Scene 3

   • Macbeth is trying to change fate by killing Fleance, he sends three murderers as he doesn't trust two to get the job done. Even with three murderers Fleance still escapes
     • "We have lost the best half of our affair"
       • Fleance escaped (the main threat)

4. Scene 4

   • The murderer arrives to say Fleance escaped, he then sees Banquos ghost and starts shouting about whats happening. Lady Macbeth says this is normal and is an issue since he was a child.
     • "Fleance is scap'd"
       • Fleance has escaped
       • "hath been from his youth"
         • Hallucinates since his childhood

5. Scene 5

   • The witches meet with Hecat discussing the future and what will happen
     • "He shall spurn fate"

6. Scene 6

   • Lennox and a lord discuss that Macbeth killed Duncan and that they need to form an army to defeat him
     • "Pitied of Macbeth"
