1. Cloud storage

   • Cloud computing is where data is stored on external servers instead of the users hard drive.
     • The servers are called HOSTS and they are owned by a HOSTING company.

2. Cloud users can access their data, software and storage provided by the HOSTING company

3. Well known examples of cloud are: Google Cloud, dropbox and Microsoft one-D

4. Users only access the cloud through software such as an app or by a website

5. Cloud storage is relatively cheap as you only pay for the storage that you use

6. Cloud storage is very flexible as it can be accessed all over the world- wherever there is an internet connection, customers will have access to their data

7. However, unfortunately it is not always reliable, it depends upon the speed of the internet connection and how up to date the software is provided by the HOSTING company

8. Security is a big problem! You have to trust the HOSTING company to keep your data safe. Furthermore, sometimes it is stored on the internet which makes it succeptable to hackers
