   • Disadvantage: not very durable and has a limited capacity compared to magnetic and solid state storage
   • advantage: cost effective and very portable compared to magnetic storage

3. magnetic storage

   • advantage: cost effective due to having a larger capacity of storage to compared to solid state
   • example 1: floppy disk
   • example 2: magnetic tape
   • disadvantage: it is not very durable as it has moving parts unlike solid state

4. solid state

   • advantage: solid state is more durable than magnetic and optical due to it not having any moving parts
   • example 1: USB stick
   • example 2: motherboard
   • disadvantage: it has less capacity compared to magnetic storage
