1. a computer is a device that takes in input and gives an output

   • it does what you tell it to
     • programming
       • sequence order is important
       • debugging
         • fixing an error in the code/source
       • indentation
         • when the code isn't directly on the next line, there's a space before the code begins on that line
     • in small steps
       • the computer isn't clever it needs simple and clear steps
       • sequence instructions
         • in chronological order
           • it will follow the steps and solve the problem
         • however you can swap some steps and the outcome will be the same
         • decomposition
           • breaking up the program into small tasks so that the computer can solve the problem
       • algorithm
         • a set of instructions to perform a task
   • the computer is meant to solve problems

2. IDLE

   • when using 'print' you must include () and "" and lowercase 'p' and spell everything correctly
