1. Graphical user interface

   • Advantages
     • easy to use
     • pictures can be more meaningful than words
   • Disadvantages
     • some options may have no use to a certain user
     • can be difficult to locate if there are lots of menus

2. Menu driven

   • advantages
     • navigation to find option is easy
     • user input is validated
   • disadvantages
     • some options may have no use to a certain user
     • can be difficult to locate an option if there are los of menus

3. Command-line

   • Advantages
     • instructions execute quickly
     • small operating system (less memory)
   • Disadvantages
     • need to learn the special instructions
     • need to type specific instruction
     • high ICT skill needed

4. Touch-sensitive

   • Advantages
     • low level ict skills needed
     • less posibility of theft
     • more practical in some environments
   • Disadvantages
     • can become dirty and scratched
     • higher cost than mouse, keyboard or monitor
