1. Graphical User Interface (GUIs)

   • WIMP
     • Window, icon, menu, pointer
   • Advantages
     • Low level of ICT skills needed; easy to use
     • Pictures can be more meaningful than words (help younger audience or people with disabilities
   • Disadvantages
     • Can be large and complex and therefore take up resources
     • Can make the computer run slower

2. Menu-driven interface

   • Advantages
     • Navigation to find option is simple
     • User input is validated as only the options shown can be used
   • Disadvantages
     • Some options may have no use for a particular user
     • Can be difficult to locate an option if there is a high number of menus and sub-menus

3. Command-line interface

   • Advantages
     • Instructions execute quickly
     • Instructions are versatile. Large number of options can be picked per instruction
     • Small operating system
   • Disadvantages
     • Need to learn the special instructions
     • Need to type instruction precisely
     • Complex levels with some commands. High level ICT skills needed

   • Advantages
