- Displays are used in:
- Projectors for use with a large audience such as a class, church congregation or concert audience
- Tablet and mobile phone screens for portability
- Televisions for showing photos and videos from a computer device.
Speaker
- Sound is needed to listen to instructions, hear warning tones, listen to music, watch videos and have conversations.
Lights
- Lights, including LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes), can be used to provide very basic information from a computer system.
Printers
- Printers are needed to produce a hard copy (physical) output from a computer system.
- Laser printers
- Highest quality, print fastest, low running costs (less than 2ppp)
- Inkjet Printers: squirt ink onto paper
- Cheap to purchase compared to laster, high running costs due to cost of ink, ink may smudge
- Dot Matric Printers
- Hit (impact) a ribbon which in turn hits the paper and makes a mark on the page.
