   • she pushed her husband arounf
   • she was power hungry
   • asks evil spirits to make her more like a man so she can help kill King Duncan
   • she had unnatural behaviour for a women in Jacobean times

2. character attributes

   • controlling
     • she knows her husband won't betray the king by killing him
     • she manipulates Macbeth
     • she makes the plans and took control of events when Macbeth loses the plot
   • cruel
     • she is violent
     • cold-blooded and glad to murder the king
     • she ridicules Macbeth when he wont join her plan to murder Duncan
   • two-faced
     • she welcomes King Duncan warmly even though she plans to kill him
     • she advises Macbeth to be 2 faced as well
     • lady macbeth:'lool like the innocent flower,/but be the serpent under't'

3. friends and enemies

   • friend macbeth
     • they share a terrible secret
     • supports him until her death
     • married
   • enemies Macduff, Banquo and king Duncan
     • no direct threats
     • even though she assists in killing Duncan they aren't enemies
     • they all stand in the way of what she wants: the throne

4. changes in character

   • LM makes fun of Macbeth for not having courage to kill Duncan - but when it comes to it she cannot kill him either therefore Macbeth has to do it
   • LM seems to be in control but in the middle of the play Macbeth begins to make decisions without her knowledge - she loses control
   • she starts to no longer care about the murder but in the end she goes mad with guilt
