1. Nerves

   • Very FAST message
     • Act for a short time
       • Very precise area
         • Electrical message (from the electrical impulse)
           • Some reactions require immediate attention (eg pain signals) therefore we need nerves. Hormones would be too slow.

2. Hormones

   • Much slower message
     • Act for a long time
       • More General area
         • Chemical message
           • But sometimes you get a longer response eg in shock Adrenaline is released causing fight or flight response where your bod is excited for action
