Endocrine System - major control system, composed of endocrine glands located throughout body that synthesize and secrete molecules called hormones

endocrine glands don't have ducts and hormones are released into the blood and transported through body

hormones -

target cells - cells w specific receptors for a hormone, they bind the hormone, which initiates or inhibits selective matbolic activities within these cells

in common w nervous system
