Classification The process of grouping similar things together.
Kingdom A major, large group of similar organisms.
Species A single kind or organism that can reproduce among it's own kind.
Phylum A major group within a kingdom
Genus A subdivision within a family.
Mamals Animals that have hair and produce milk for their young.
Invertebrate An animal without a backbone.
Fish Fish are organisms that have scales and live their entire life underwater.
Reptiles Animals that have scaly skin, and most lay their eggs on land.
Birds Birds have feathers, which keep them warm and help some fly.
Endoskeleton An internal skeleton, characteristic of Vertebrates.
Exoskeleton A hard external covering or structure that protects or supports the body.
Vertebrates An animal with a backbone.
Amphibian Amphibian start their life in the water, but when they are adults the live on land.
Protist A single celled organism.
Fungi Fungi are decomposers. They break down plants.
