What is the definition of data? | Data consists of raw facts and figures for example reading from and experiment, because they are raw fact they are meaningless and have no relevance. Data is either in a form that you can not use or it is just no use to you. |

What is information? | Data processed by the computer. |
What can processed mean? | Having calculations performed on it. Converting the data to give it meaning. Organised in some way (putting in order) |
What is knowledge? | Knowledge is information with rules applied to it. |
What does GIGO stand for? | Garbage in garbage out. |
What does GIGO mean? | If you enter the incorrect data into the computer the output from the computer will be incorrect as well. |
Name two ways in which data can arise? | From results of an experiment. From automatic measurement using sensors (rainfall) Also: From a transaction (buying a download) From a survey |
