Natural Numbers
Cards in this deck (8)
- 1FactorsFactors of a natural number divide the natural number without leaving a remainder
factors of 8 are 1, 2, 4, 8 - 2prime and Composite NumberPrime Numbers are those numbers that have two and only two factors.
2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13
Composite Numbers are the numbers that have more than two factors
4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 14, 15, 16 - 3Twin Prime NumbersTwin Prime Numbers are Prime Numbers with only one composite number in between them
3, 5
5, 7
11, 13
17, 19 - 4Coprime NumbersCoprime Numbers
do not have any common factors other than one
11 and 13 Coprime Numbers
15 and 20 Not Coprime Numbers
9 and 16 Coprime Numbers - 5FactorizationFactorization means writing the numbers in product form like
20 = 2*2*5
16 = 2*2*2*2 - 6Divisibility TestsTest for divisibility
Its a method/test to find out whether a number is divisible by another number without actually dividing and should be faster than actual division
It is very useful to carry out prime factorization, divisions and determining whether a number is prime or not
Divisibility test for 2:
If its last digit is either 0, 2, 4, 6, 8(even number), then it is divisible by 2
Divisibility test for 5:
If its last digit is either 0 or 5, then it is divisible by 5
Divisibility test for 10:
if its last digit is 0, then it is divisible by 10
Divisibility test for 3:
If the sum(total) of all its digit is divisible by 3, then the number is also divisible by 3
Divisibility test for 9:
If the sum(total0 of all its digits is divisible by 9 then the number is also divisible by 9
Divisibility test for 4:
If the last two digits are divisible by 4, then the number is also divisible by 4
Divisibility test for 8:
If the last three digits are divisible by 8, then the number is also divisible by 8
Divisibility test for 11:
If the difference of all the sum of odd digits the sum of eve - 7Highest Common Factor (HCF) Greatest Common DivisorMethod1:
Listing all the factors
Method2:
Prime Factorization
Method3:
Division method - 8Lowest Common Multiple(LCM)Multiple of a number is obtained by multiplying natured numbers to the number.
Lowest Common Multiple of two or more numbers is the smallest number common to all
Method 1: Listing the MUltiples
Method 2: Prime factorization
Method 3: Modified Prime Factorization
