- 1The purpose of utility softwareUtility software helps users configure, analysis and maintain a computer. Utility Software usually consists of small programs which are thought of as part of the operating system.
- 2CompressionCompression or data compression is used to reduce the size of of one or more files also when a file is compression it takes up less disk space than an uncompressed version and can be transferred into other systems quicker.
- 3Auto-updateAuto-update allows users to keep there programs up to date without having to check. The software automatically checks for the updates when if found it will download and install without user invention.
- 4Disk defragmenterDisk defragmenter is the process of locating the noncontagious fragments or data into which the computer file may be divided as it is stored on a hard disk and rearranging the fragments and restoring them into fewer fragments or into the whole file
- 5Disk analysis/repairDisk analysis/repair checks and if problems are found it corrects the issues with the directory on a disk. The directory is analogous to a combined address book and road map to where data is stored on a disk.
- 6Full backupFull backup is making a copy of file to which a organization wants to keep protected in a single backup. The files that are duplicated during the full backup process are designated beforehand by a backup administrator or other data protection specialist.
- 7Incremental backupIncremental backup stored only data and files that have been modified by since the last backup was conducted. The purpose of a incremental file backup is to capture changes that have hap since last archive.
