- 1What are structured interviews?Pre-determined, standardised, identical questions for each interviewee. Pre-coded answers.
- 2What are semi-structured interviews?Must cover list of themes/questions. Order and manner in which questions asked can change. Additional questions may be asked based on relevance.
- 3What are unstructured interviews?The main topic of inquiry is introduced. Interviewee is allowed to freely structure answers and develop own ideas.
- 4What are focus groups?5-12 people interviewed at a time. Group interaction is encouraged. Moderator facilitate/structure discussion.
- 5When do you use questionnaires?To obtain data from a large number of respondents. To obtain standardised data. When costs of printing, posting etc are easily recovered.
