Flashcards
The three Cs/CPU
Cards in this deck (9)
- 1What's the purpose of CPU?To fetch, code and execute instructions.
- 2Definition of computer system?Input > Process > Output
- 3What does clock speed do?Clock speed increases number of cycles per second.
- 4What does cache do?Cache stores frequently used instructions which are quicker to access than RAM.
- 5What does cores do?Cores mean more cycles can be completed at the same time.
- 6What happens during FDE cycle? In the FDE cycle The CPU uses the fetch to bring the code to the decoder and then passes it on to the execute to actually do the code, and the better the Cache, Cores and clock speed the faster it does it.
- 7What is Control Unit? The control unit, controls the flow of data.
- 8What does the arithmetic Logic unit do?carries out the calculations and logical decisions.
