| Tobe Hooper was born in 1943 in Texas USA, his interest in film began at a very early age when he used his father's 8mm video camera to record home videos about his family. | During the 1960s he worked as a college professor and a cameraman for a documentary film company on the side. Moreover, during the 60s he began work on his first short film "The Heisters," it was nominated to content the amateur short film category at the Oscars but was not finished in time. |
