What is solid waste? Solid waste comprises all wastes arising from human and animal activities that are normally solid and that are discarded as useless or unwanted.
Why solid? Solid meaning it isn't being emitted via gaseous/vaporous emissions , i.e. not emitted directly into the environment. The waste is "captured" or "contained".
