X-rays in Medicine

- 1x-rays are high frequency,short electromagnetic waves. They're transmitted by healthy tissue but they're absorbed by denser materials. They affect photographic film like light, so they can be used to take photographs. X-ray images can be formed electronically using charge-coupled devices (CCDs).
