data represention - instructions
Cards in this deck (5)
- 1opcodeopcode tells the job which needs to be done to the processor
opcode instructions are very limited in what it can tell the processor to do
there are 2 types of opcode:
opcode that tells the circuitry which operation to carry out
opcode along with some data to be processed - 2operandthe operand specifies the data that needs to be acted on. It can also refer to a place in memory, e.g. a register.
- 3translatorsa piece of translator software which is usually included within programming softwar econverts high-level languages into machine code.
These tranlators are known as compilers and interpreters. These translate programs. - 4compilertranslates a human-readable program into an executable, machine-readable form before the program can run
