Question Answer
what is the first stage of synthesising a polypeptide? ribosome attaches to start codon at end of mRNA molecule
2nd? tRNA with complementary anticodon sequence moves to ribosome and pairs with sequence on mRNA. this is carrying an amino acid
3rd? A tRNA molecule with complementary anticodon pairs with next codon on mRNA. this tRNA is carrying another amino acid.
4th? the ribosome moves along the mRNA bringing together two tRNA molecules at any one time, each pairing up with corresponding codon.
5th? using enzymes and ATP two amino acids on the tRNA are joined by peptide bonds
6th? ribosome moves along to next codon and so on, linking a chain of amino acids
7th? as this happens, the first tRNA is released and can go to collect another amino acid.
