What is homeostasis? Keeping the body at a constant environment.

Why is it important for the body temperature to be 37 degrees Celsius? Because that is the optimum temperature for enzymes in the body
How can body temperature be controlled? Shivering Sweating Altering blood flow to the skin
What is vasoconstriction? When the body gets too cold and the blood vessels constrict reducing the blood flow towards the skin keeping us warm
What is vasodilation? When the body gets too warm, the blood vessels dilate so more blood goes to the skin resulting in heat loss to keep us cool.
What is the hormone that controls blood sugar levels? Insulin
What is Type 1 diabetes? Where the pancreas is unable to make enough insulin to control the blood sugar levels
What is glucose stored as if there is too much in the body? Excess glucose is stored in the liver as glycogen
