Flashcards
Elements of Computational Thinking
Cards in this deck (4)
- 1What is thinking abstractly?Representation of reality. Requires recognising what is important in a problem and then formulate it in a way that can be passed to an algorithm
- 2what is 'caching' when thinking ahead?A cache is a temporary store where instructions or data that are likely to be needed are anticipated and are stored, ready for fast access. Cached data can replace the need for recalculation or slow access of data stored online or on disk
- 3What is thinking procedurally?1. Divide up a problem into sub-problems
2. Do solutions already exist for any of the sub-problems?
3. How do the sub-problems interact with each other? - 4What is thinking logically?- Identify when decision making is required
- Identify what decisions need to be made
- Identify the test conditions to enable a decision to be made
- Understand the interactions between decisions
- Apply decision making to the real-world problem
