Why do Empires rise and fall?	Rise: -Trading - Winning wars - Expanding land - Having military/administration genius as leaders - Installing governors in territories - resourceful Fall: - bad leaders - revolution/revolt/rebellion - War - Natural disasters - Weak economy and administration - Unable to control all the territory (over confidence and ambition)
How did China Unite?	- Used legalist ideas - stopped internal conflict/invaders w/ military force - eliminated rivals, divided China into 36 districts - burned books on Confucianism/killed remaining scholars - built great wall of China
