Why was Berlin being in Eastern Europe so beneficial to the USA? It gave them a foothold inside the Soviet Eastern block

Why was East Germany left with skills shortages? Because many skilled workers left for the West
Why did the amount of refugees reflect poorly on the Soviets? It showed Communism as unpopular

What gave the USA an advantage if H-bombs had to be used? The USA had the technology to drop H-bombs on the USSR but the USSR couldn't drop any on the USA
