  1. 1What is the purpose of the CPU?To manage all parts of the computer and communication in between.
    It processes data.
(it is the brain of the computer)
  2. 2What are the functions of a CPU?Fetch, decode and execute instructions.
  3. 3What is the benefit of having multiple cores?Multiple instructions can be processed at one time.
  4. 4What is clock speed?Measured in Hz, the clock speed is how many fetch-execute cycles are done per second.
  5. 5Where does the CPU fetch from? The CPU typically fetches from the cache (quickest) or the RAM. It can fetch from secondary memory, however this is slow.
  6. 6What is the ALU?Arithmetic and logic unit; it decodes the instruction.
  7. 7What are the different levels of cache and what is their purpose?Lvl 1 - feeds memory into lvl 2
Lvl 2 - gives instruction to be decoded
