Euan Geleziunas - 2SyntaxThese are the statements / commands which can be used on tables within database.
- 3SelectThis allows us to select specific data from a table, the results found are stored in a results table. This table is known as the result - set. This result table can be navigated using commands.
- 4Distinct WhereDistinct - this eliminates duplicates from selected columns.
Where - This is used to find values that fit a criteria. Number values cannot have speech marks. - 5AND & ORThis is similar to the where however this applies to more than one criteria.
- 6Order ByThis sorts results table by one or more columns.
Default = ascending
Descending = desc - 7Insert IntoThis allows for new records to be inserted into a table. You can also specify which columns you want records to be inserted.
- 8UpdateThis changes values from one thing to another.
- 9DeleteThis deletes any unwanted data from a table.
- 10DropThis is used to delete an index within a table.
- 11JoinThis is the same as the inner join. This allows us to select columns from two tables as long as there's a match.
