Why did the Ottomans face to choice but to accept Disraeli's demand for Cyprus? Because they relied on British support to reclaim some of their territory from Russia.
What was agreed under the Cyprus Convention? Cyprus was leased to Britain by the Ottoman Empire for £92,799 annually.
What happened to the money that was mean tot be paid annually? It was raised betaking the inhabitants, but the money was never paid to the Ottomans, Disraeli insisted that it was sent to London to pay debts from the Crimean War that the Ottomans had defaulted on.
How does the acquisition show the gap between major imperial powers and other countries? because the Ottoman Empire had been helpless to Disraeli's bloodless acquisition of Cyprus, which was seen as a diplomatic coup.
