PHASES OF THE TECHNOLOGICAL PROCESS

1. NEEDS: FORMULATING A PROJECT

   • Projectare often defined by a tender document which specifies how the task must be completed.

2. PREVIOUS SOLUTIONS AND INDIVIDUAL PROPOSALS

   • After consulting information each person should draw a sketch with an idea for a new solution.
   • The sketches should express the idea clearly, the size of the object, its function...
   • Doing sketches is very important to work individually.

3. GROUP DISCUSSION AND SELECTION OF A SOLUTION

   • Group members should present their individual solutions also called strategic alternatives.
   • The Strategic Alternatives Matrix (SAM) offers a mathematical solution which can guide you through the decision-making process.

4. DEVELOPMENT OF A GROUP SOLUTION

   • The project is defined in terms of structure, function, cost and method of construction.

5. CONSTRUCTION

   • When you build an object, it's a good idea to start with the support elements; other pieces can be added later.
   • During construction, unexpected problems may arise. We should keep a record of these problems in an incident report sheet.

6. MARKETING

   • Is a combination of activities that a company uses to sell or trade its products.
   • We must use three criteria to evaluate it through the impacts that it may have

     • Economic
     • Environmental
   • Marketing plan
     • Distribution
     • Advertising
     • Price
     • Customer service

7. VERIFICATION, PRESENTATION AND EVALUATION

   • We should check that everything works properly and evaluate any aspects that could be improved.
