generations, as when a daughter rises about the class
of her parents
- INTRAGENERATIONAL-Occuring within a generation,
as when a person's class or status changes as a result of
business success (or failure)
- CLOSED CLASS SYSTEMS: In
which movement from one class to
another is virtually impossible-CASTE SYSTEM
- OPEN CLASS SYSTEMS: In which placement in the class system is
based on achievement, not ascription. Loose class boundaries, high
rates of class mobility and weak perceptions of class difference
