Storage
RAM / Random Access Memory, it stores instructions until the power goes off. Ram can hold up to 16GB and as little as 4 GB.
ROM/Read Only Memory, Once data has been written onto a ROM chip, it cannot be removed and can only be read. Plus it is attached to the motherboard.
Solid State Drive, instead of storing data on magnetic platters, SSDs store data using flash memory. They can store up to 4TB!
Hard disk drive/HDD, hard drive or fixed disk is a data storage device that uses magnetic storage to store and retrieve digital information using one or more rigid rapidly rotating disks (platters) coated with magnetic material.
Optical Disk/DVD, Optical disc offers a number of advantages over magnetic storage media. An optical disc holds much more data. The greater control and focus possible with laser beams (in comparison to tiny magnetic heads) means that more data can be written into a smaller space. Storage capacity increases with each new generation of optical media. Emerging standards, such as Blu-ray, offer up to 27 gigabytes (GB) on a single-sided 12-centimeter disc.
